Collaborative tagging systems (CTS) can promote the development of Networks of Practice (NoP) among professionals. Yet, previous research has neglected whether and to what extend teachers actively engage into such collaborative tagging activities. The present study addresses this shortcoming by providing preliminary results from a German CTS for teachers. Based on our results, we argue that CTS can stimulate teachers to “leave their isolation” and start sharing information and resources with each other.
